Hi despite changing flea brands now use advantage on the cat and some tablet thing for the dog. I noticed a flea today whilst hoovering. I am getting throughly fed up with this shit and I don't think the acclaim spray from the vet worked last year despite using it as instructions said.
I have been reading reviews on amazon about indorex and most seem very positive. Has it worked for you, does it smell foul like other sprays and basically would you recommend? Oh and I nearly fainted when saw how much cheaper it was than acclaim!!

It worked for us, but please please please please take care when using it. Keep the windows open, do a room and then leave the room with the door shut for a while etc.

I sprayed our whole house in a frenzy of hoovering and spraying over a weekend (panicked activity because we were infested with fleas, truely infested, 6 weeks before our wedding celebrations with associated house guests). I breathed shed loads of it in because of inadequate ventilation and hoovering exertions while spraying, and I wheezed for 6 months afterwards. Inhalers, steroids, all sorts from the GP. I have never had a wheeze before or since, so I am sure it was the flea spray.

Don't let that put you off (!) but do treat it with a bit of respect.

Leave the spray for at least 3 days (no hoovering). Otherwise you're not letting it do its poison. And after that only hover every 3 days or so for the first week. It can only kill hatched out fleas, so regular hoovering still good idea. I guess you regularly treat your pets, too? Seeing a flea doesn't mean nothing's working; none of them kill instantaneously so animal can still bring a living flea into the house (briefly).

works wonders! i would ignore the bit on the tin that says it does a whole 3 bed house though! i would say 1 tin does two rooms max! especially if you have to do beds and carpets and sofas

bear in mind it can take a week or more sometimes to get rid of them completely, it took nearly a month and £££ on indorex to get all the fuckers in our house.

also, if you have a tumble dryer you can bung bedding and toys in there on the hottest setting and it'll fry the buggers too, saves on boil washing everything.

slippermaiden · 02/03/2015 11:13

Our cats flea treatment stops the fleas reproducing. That means he can bring in fleas and she's them on carpets and beds, but one nip of his blood renders them sterile ha ha ha aha ha!

ps: some flea treatments, esp. the dog's, are weight dependent. So make sure you're using right dose for the weight of your animal, else won't be effective.

Indorex sorted out our Fleamageddon issue after coming home from holiday.

ITHOUGHTISAW2ANGELSAHEADOFME · 02/03/2015 16:28

thanks for the replies!! I will get a couple of them and have a go in the room we don't use much first. Then we don't have to breathe it in ;-D
I think the vet is giving it us via weight. Although I think the dog has put a couple of pounds since being with us and treats after the walk ;-D

It is magic.

My Mum is visited by a lovely pussycat every day while its family are out at work, and last summer, the puss brought lots of jumpy visitors which ravaged dd. They left me alone oddly

Nothing worked. Nothing. Then I read about Indorex on here, got a can from Amazon. Blitzed the house. Never seen a flea since.

Buttholelane · 02/03/2015 22:32

Try csj Billy no mates.
Can't fault it at all, in the meantime, throw out as many fabric items the animals use as you can like beds, your beds etc, vacuum the carpets like crazy, indorex every 6 months for a year or two to be sure your rid of them.
The fuckers can live over a year in your carpets!
Alternatively, there is an injection that lasts 6 months, it doesn't kill the fleas but makes them infertile so can be very effective.

SingingSands · 02/03/2015 22:39

Indorex works. I open the window wide, spray liberally (not forgetting along skirting boards and under beds), then shut the door on that room for a good few hours. If I need to do the lounge I do it before leaving for work.

ITHOUGHTISAW2ANGELSAHEADOFME · 03/03/2015 09:30

thanks for the advice. I think I might have to enquire about the injection as despite this tablet the dog is still continuing to scratch. I will definitely try the indorex spray I think as you can have the window's open you have to shut the windows with bloody acclaim.

That’s rubbish. Instructions clearly state hoover is good. Hoovering will help unhatched pupae will hatch out and be killed by the Indorex you have used.

I’m having the same problem :’( :’( fleas are soooo frustrating.. we bombed two rooms using those bomb things and sprayed natural stuff everywhere else (as well as hoovering every morning everywhere) and didn’t let dog go in those two rooms. A week later they could still be found on her with flea comb.. we used frontline on her as well.. so we bought 2 cans of indorex and did that on Sunday, and shampooed her with flea stuff.. I found one today with flea comb.. does this mean it still might have worked?

Christmascookiesmmmm · 26/05/2020 12:06

We have carpet on stairs and landing and corridor and it’s a pretty big hallway and I want to get rid of carpet anyway to redecorate with tiles- wondering if it’s worth just doing that now in case they’re festering in the carpet.. but underneath it’s old floorboards and they might get stuck in between gaps? Anyone any idea?

Christmascookiesmmmm · 26/05/2020 12:09

Btw I got the indorex from here as it seemed the best price and they were quick at delivering, petwell.co.uk/indorex.html#

And 2 cans I think just about covered our 3 bed house

SharkasticRhymes · 29/05/2020 20:46

Indorex is awesome but the first time I used it, I left the room door closed and the window slightly ajar for the night to air. When I got up the next day and went outside, under the treated room window there was approximately a 2 foot strip of all sorts of dead insects on the floor.

Take care and use it responsibly.

LilahSweetPea · 09/09/2022 06:30

I think I’m having the same breathing issues with Indorex. It’s like I have asthma symptoms! If it’s alright with you, would you mind telling me what you got from the docs and have you suffered since? I’m a bit worried for my breathing and whether I’ve caused permanent damage. Strangely, hubby is unaffected.
