Its usually DH's job but he;s away and our cat is rather resistant to everyhting I try. Any tried and tested effective methods?

Our old vets used to sell - well I don't know what to call them really, but kind of meat-flavoured plasticine that you wrapped round the pill, which work really well. My old cat would quite happily wolf them down, even with pill inside.

The other trick is use cream cheese, but crush the tablet - the cream cheese sticks to the top of their mouth and they can't spit it out!

i crush them and then pour off the brine / oil from a tin of tuna and mix it with that (v. rare cat treat in our house) and tell them it's tuna soup - seems to work.

I take mine to the vet.

I advise the vet to get a nurse in to help. if they are wusses, they do.

It costs, but it's better than her hospitalising DH which is what nearly happened last time.

She only gets worming tablets.

If she ever needs any others, lord help her.

Sometimes, and it does rather depend on the tablets but always worked with worming tablets, if you crush a tablet into a piece of tin foil and put in fridge overnight it reduces the scent so you can hide it in food.

Absolutely howled at that SG (where have you been hiding?). So true, and funnily enough my dog has 4 tablets a day, two of which are wrapped in bacon Grin
