My friend has two dogs a 7 yr old jack Russell cross and a 5 yr old lab. Jack Russell has always been considered by them 'naughty' or 'crazy' they bought the lab and thought their children when they can along would love go as he's so gentle. Well fast forward to 3 year old and 18mth old children in the house. Dogs dot go for walks every day and when they are left they used to be crated individually. Now they are both in the cupboard under the stairs with the door open but a baby gate on it. This is where they spend from 0630 to 1500ish when both adults are at work. Sometimes less if one has day off although they often go out as a family and leave the dogs. Both adults love running but don't take either dog.
Am I just a moody cow this morning or the fact that the jack Russell is now on medication for anxiety which manifests in obsessively licking her front paws probably something to do with their rubbish life or loneliness and by enough exercise?
I untill this year had a much loves collie x who died aged 14. They repeatedly 'wished' their dogs were like her. I did say she wasn't when we rescues her and it took a long time and lots of exercise and play - neither is given out much to her two dogs.
They have been on the verge of regaining the jack Russell for years not the precious lad has he cost money of course :-s - even tho he used to be hubby's golden boy since children he is now just 'in the way' and 'too big and clumsy'
Just needed to vent this all really to other doggy people.
