Strange cockatiel behaviour - any parrot/parakeet keepers?

I've got two cockatiels, neither of which are hand reared or "silly tame" (I despise that phrase!). One of them is semi tame, she's fine as long as you don't put your hands anywhere near her. The other is quite tame, but she has turned in to a nightmare :(

She screams for us to get her up in the morning. This morning it was 7am. So we bring her in with us. Normally she sits on my head and grooms herself and talks to us. Nope, yesterday every time I dared to even breathe I got pecked in the head. She flies out of the room after 2 minutes back in to the lounge and starts screaming for me to go and get her. She then refuses to come anywhere near me. I go in to the bathroom and she just screams and screams and screams for me, but yet won't come anywhere near me. I can't even go to the loo without her screaming.

On Tuesday we had a gas leak in apartment building and I couldn't catch her to take her outside. Normally if it's bed time or I'm going out she just gets on my hand and I pop her in to the cage. That's it. She flew around so hard trying to get away that she was gasping for breath :(. Since Tuesday now she's done the same if it's bed time or I'm going out/to work/etc. She'll fly around until she absolutely can't fly any more and then she'll go in.

If I ignore her shrieking she will continue to do it until she goes hoarse!! The worst part is the second cockatiel has started copying her shrieking.

I don't understand whats wrong with her. She has 12 hours sleep a night, she has a nice big cage (indoor aviary) with lots of fun toys and things to chew, she's only in her cage if I'm going out or it's her bed time. :(.

Not a problem I've had, but this looks well-informed.
I would think about clipping her wing, tbh. It's fine to have them flying if they're friendly but it's bad for her safety otherwise.

has something unsettled her? The wild birds are very vocal at the moment - perhaps she can hear them more.
when you get her out in the morning can you leave her in/on the cage with a treat? Perhaps put on some low music.

For some advice please try posting on: www.parrot-link.co.uk/. Clipping wings is not the answer either - something has happened to upset her like this. Sorry can't reply more - got to see to my son who has just woken from his nap - but the people on the website above are brilliant and will be able to help you.
