At wits end with the cat

I have 3 cats, all brothers and the smallest one, DJ is rather fond of playing games that involving biting and scratching but now hes doing it in the night!

DJ hates me being in the bed, if I stroke him in the bed, he will bite me yet if I get out of bed and stroke him he will purr! And it doesn't matter if I am in the bed with my boyfriend (he had the cats before I came alone), if I am in bed alone or if I am in the spare bed!

For the last 3 weeks or so, while i've been sleeping DJ has been batting my nose to wake me up and biting me when I do wake up. I have been waking up and putting him off the bed on the floor but he gets back up, I have shut the door but he screams at back of it to get in which is worse! I have even lightly smacked his bum on occasion :/ he has dry food down and water so its not that theyve run out and hes letting me know.

Can anyone please give me any advice on what to do for him? Im knackered through it!

Would it be worth shutting him out and trying to put up with a few weeks of yowling till he gets the message? They generally do get the idea in the end - he could have a basket downstairs instead? My Mum has a cat who is silly like this, he will poke his paws in her eyes and scratch her feet for no reason. He's had to be banished too....

I'll try that but its sooo hard when its like 2am and hes yowling! He has got a load of places to sleep downstairs, really dont know what his problem is!

I think he'd soon get the message if you shut him downstairs. He'd howl for a few nights but then he's keeping you awake anyway, you don't have much to lose.
Shut him out..or sleep in Lion Poo, that's supposed to scare them off.

I know. It's too tempting to just let them in. And you can't get up and feed them because then that becomes their next crazy habit Sad. Cats are slightly obsessive, aren't they. And IME male cats get 'bees in their bonnet' about things. My big tabby cat gets so overexcited if you tickle his chin that he ends up biting REALLY hard. Good luck with trying to put up with the yowling....

We have just rehomed two cats. One was allowed to sleep on their previous owner's bed. We have had a month of scratching at the door, like you. A supply of balled up socks to throw at the door is a good idea. Makes a thump, startles her off, but not too scary. Otherwise we try to ignore her, she eventually gets bored and wanders off. The landing carpet is destroyed though...

The other cat has incontinence issues (was run over) so sleeps in a crate. The crate is long enough for her tray, bed and food. She doesn't like being shut in, but settles and goes to sleep. If yours won't learn, may be that's an option?

Not sure on the idea of the crate tbh, I dont think him nor his brothers would be impressed but i do like the balled up socks thing! Ill deffo be storing a few of them next to the bed tonight!
