Going to get 2 kittens from CPL, how much to donate to them?

Dearly beloved Moggie died this week (I posted a thread about telling ds), and we had always said that when she passed away we would get two kittens. (Moggie was also from CPL but was an adult when we got her 10 years ago, pre-ds, and she must have been knocked about a bit as she was affectionate but hated being picked up.)

I can't remember how much we gave the CPL for Moggie at the time, but have phoned them up and they have a few 4 month old kittens available (but we can't have them until they can get around to having us assessed in the New Year). They will be litter trained, probably spayed and chipped. I've seen kittens advertised for about £60 (moggies!) - can't afford that so just wondered what you all thought?

We had a cat from them and the minimum donation was £40 per cat.

Mine cat was £40 IIRC, which is very little I think, given that they are vaccinated and neutered, wormed and de flead, sometimes microchipped. If you can't afford the £60 (!! I couldn't!) for a moggie in a private sale, then all the preliminary vets fees on top, it's bound to make more sense to hold out until the new year and the CPL, if you can

Have you tried any other animal sanctuaries near to you? I got mine from the society for abandoned animals (I think!).
