What do you do with your rabbits in winter?

Got a rabbit for ds1's birthday in August.
He has an outside run with hutch attached, and a second hutch in an outbuilding which we put him in at night. He never shelters in the 'cosy' parts of either hutch - just sits there hunched up in the cold, even in the rain.

Is it best to keep him in the outbuilding hutch altogether during this cold weather?
I thought rabbits were supposed to burrow into warm places? What's wrong with him??!!!!!!

Bring them in...who the hell would want to sleep outside in that???!!!

starlover · 21/11/2005 22:43

well plenty of wild rabbits do! seriously... if they have always been out they will be fine!

my rabbit has survived 5 winters so far and is in great shape

charlietherednosedpussy · 21/11/2005 22:45

Is that ice block shape

starlover · 21/11/2005 22:46

he doesn't like coming indoors... he gets all hot and bothered and has to go and lie behind the sofa

you can tell if they're too hot because their ears will feel really warm
