Dogs and their monthly inquisitiveness

Why do they do it?! How can they be stopped? Is it a question of manners?

I have to use pads, which I assume makes the problem worse, I arrived at a friends house recently, freshly showered, padded and determined to make it across the threshold unsniffed, but no.

Lift leg to step through door only to find progress hindered by rather large snout thrust firmly into groin

Are some dogs worse than others and why are they so damn interested anyway?!

Good question RedZ..... And I don't know her well enough to ask!!

Was the dog unneutered? There were dogs like this on that show 'It's Me or the Dog', and they both stopped sniffing like this once they'd been neutered.

My dog is unneutered. Actually, he's basically just a horny adolescent at the moment and will shag anyone's leg regardless of gender.

He'll grow out of it...
