She is a homely cat and never goes to far but still im worried.. i will be keeping her in for a while but wondered if anyone had any tips!! Also the 3 hour car journey not gunna be too good bin to vets who gave me feliway spray supposed to calm them...Does anyone knows if this works??

Put butter on the paws and then they lick them and put their saliva around outside

Put cat litter spinkled around garden after the cat has used it

will spread their cat wee smell all around garden

Put the cat basket in the garden so they can smell the garden while still in basket

Make sure she is chipped and the information is up to date.

Ditto collar and ID barrell.

I have moved over 10 times with my cat and each time I have put butter on her paws (urban myth I'm sure, allegedly they pick up the scent of the new place and licking it off helps them to remember) and kept her in for a few days - at least until our stuff is all unpacked and she seems settled.

Good luck!

thankyou for your ideas wasn't sure if the butter trick was a myth but worth a try.. had her microchipped two days ago so fingers crossed...

I've heard that the butter trick really works too. Definitely keep her in, but a good trick too is when you do let her out again, let her out just before feeding time. That way she'll be hungry and not keen to go too far.

Good luck!

You need to keep her in for 3 weeks, Dont know why but thats what folks say.

We've moved loads of times, from one end of the country to the other, and never lost a cat yet! We don't bother with butter or even keeping them in, they just turn up again like bad pennies.
