is this safe or not?

WB had first jabs on friday so not due follow up til friday of next week and then we have to wait at least a week before he can walk outside where other dogs have been.

ds starts school tomorrow and is very keen that WB accompanies him to school. it is only a five minute walk and i am going to put him in the basket of the buggy so he isn't on the ground. i did this when we had to take him for his jabs and he just sat there very quietly and didn't try to get out. i will put his lead on him just incase he does attempt to make a run for it. the vet seemed to think it very inventive but didn't mention whether it was safe or not.

I would say this was fine. I carried our pup to school with me before she could go for proper walks. It's good for their socialisation.

Just be careful he's not mobbed by kids and overwhelmed.

I'm sure it's safe. It's not any different from carrying him really as he won't be coming into contact with the ground. As it's safe to
carry a pup around, I see no reason why this would not he safe.

Plus, the vet would have said if it was not safe to do so!

i thought that too, he would have stopped me leaving if it wasn't safe wouldn't he?

i am hoping not to draw any attention to him at the school. he really does just lie down and the basket is positioned so that you would need to be told he was in there but he can see out through the netting. it is just for ds's sake, WB is 'his' dog and he really wants to show him his new school but i told him I'd have to check it was ok to do it.

No news yet Sad
they were due to find out if it was cancer so fingers crossed this means it isn't. I hope they get some answers soon. Not knowing what you are dealing with is just so worrying.

yes, it is definitely harder not knowing. at least when you know, you can make decisions about what to do. hope you hear soon. thinking about her and the family.

well, that was a great success. he jsut sat lookig out of the basket the whole way. a few parents noticed him and teh children started petting him. he was as good as gold. he was lapping up the attention. he is now zonked out in his crate. all those new sights and smells must have exhausted him Grin

Brilliant idea Booyhoo the more of that he gets the better. Perfectly safe, gets him out being socialised and does not do your back in at the same time Grin

well, it is ok as long as he is small enough to fit into the basket Grin he is growing really fast. he hasn't even been here a fortnight and he has gotten so big already. it really exhausted him. he came home and headed straight for the crate and slept for an hour and a half!!!
