Grrr - blardy cats

Got back from hols a week ago and the cats are so unsettled.

They are a pair of rescue cats that have taken about 7 years so socialise as they were very badly treated so they are a bit delicate.

We had a catsitter so they weren't abandoned - but so far one of them has crapped indoors three times (normally v good about going outside) however this has been exasperated by dh reseeding the lawn and covering one of the cats usual crapping corner.

The same cat has also vomited down the side of one of my dining room chairs

How long until the dirty protest should stop? Do you think I should get a litter tray for the cat who is getting anxious about going to the toilet?

Bloody things - If I wasn't so sentimental about them I'd boot them out all night long...

Have you tried Feliway spray / infuser? It calms them down a bit and helps them settle. My lovely, previously well behaved moggy, crapped all over our new house when we first moved (DH on the brink of rehoming her) but we got Feliway and things are much happier and less poo-y now.

It took about a month for the indoors smelliness to stop completely but we noticed she was calmer after the first day. Our vet also recommended a spray (called Urine Off) to get rid the stench which also stopped the puss thinking it was OK to pee inside.

Good luck!

Thanks - yes, I remembered about feliway - we had one of them when we first got them and it worked really well - they seem a bit more settled now (no more in-door accidents) so will keep an eye on it.
