Diahorra in puppy, vet said he's ok but thinking of changing food

We have a lovely Labardoodle pupy, who is now 14 weeks old. He has had very loose pooh since he came to us. I have taken him to the vet and he put him on a bland diet for a week and gave us Anti Biotics just in case. We have started him back on his normal diet and its gone straight back to diahorra again, which makes me think its his diet. We have stopped treats for 3 days, just to be sure but made no difference.
he is gaining weight, is happy and not unwell but still not nice for the little one
So want to try changing food to see if that helps. His on James welbeloved atm, any suggestions? Can you buy the bland diet the vet sold us? Although it was very expensive at £5 for 3 tins!
TIA

I'd suggest Naturediet, which is artificial ingredient free. www.naturediet.co.uk/

My GSD, who also can be prone to a dodgy tum, is fine on it and it is the only diet I would feed my epileptic foster GSD. It's frequently recommended by rescues and breeders as a solution to diahorrea in dogs.

My greedy Lab X loves it too, and can't be left out! One of the additional advantages is that dogs enjoy Naturediet ime, so there is no waste and no half-eaten bowls hanging around the kitchen waiting for the nearest cat or fly to tuck into it.

Another vote for naturediet here.

Also look at the amount you are giving him. If he is gaining weight ok then maybe try giving him less. Dire rear is a common feature of overfeeding, also look at the timing of the feeding if they are too close together this can also cause an upset tum.

Im feeding him as per the instructions, making sure i include treats in weights for day. He has 3 meals a day, 7am, 12pm and 5pm. I have put an upturned cup in his bowl to stop him eating too fast too.

We feed salters and have never had any trouble since he started on it

My 7 yo foster GSD, who had lost a little weight owing to kennel stress, is on 5 packs of Naturediet a day. He's unneutered as he's epileptic and the risks of the op outweigh the benefits. My 3 yo GSD and my 10 yo Lab x are on a mix of kibble and a couple of packs a day. Both are neutered, GSD can have a dodgy tum on some foods and was a bugger to keep weight on pre-neutering and pre-Naturediet but is now in tip top shape and Lab x is like me, showing a little middle aged spread!

Our chocolate lab was prone to food related upset tummy when she was a pup, and had terrible smelly wind too. We moved her onto Eukanuba dried food and she was fine with that, stopped it straight away. Have since moved her to a Purina dried food. I would try some different foods which are are not expensive specialist diets first, you may just find a generic one that works for the puppy, and save yourself a fortunte.

I got an email for a special offer for grain free food small size bags. Might work as some dogs don't tolerate wheat or gluten well.

Worth a try
