At least 10% of women have this misunderstood debilitating and lonely disease.

Bumping - I've never suffered from it myself, for which I'm very grateful, it's shameful so many women do and seem expected to just put up with it.

sakes · 21/02/2024 21:51

Bump

Bumping for you OP

I am surprised that this isn't attracting more attention as it is such a painful condition affecting so many women. The delays in getting diagnosis and treatment are truly shocking

Morewineplease10 · 22/02/2024 08:49

Signed and shared. This needs serious attention, it affects so many women.

sakes · 22/02/2024 19:39

Thanks guys. Yeah I think people maybe just think it affects others but no clue that your neice/ girlfriend/ wife and child could be suffering and getting little care or answers.

I mean you'd think mumsnet would run a campaign?

strintrina · 22/02/2024 19:45

Signed, finally diagnosed after 10 years just over 20 years ago. Am reluctant to ever visit a GP after being gaslight about my symptoms for so long, told to my face I must have a low pain threshold, other women cope just fine. I am still so angry about it all. Love Tiktok/Insta also raising awareness.

Thank you for this.

LaLaLouella · 22/02/2024 19:49

Bump!

I mean you'd think mumsnet would run a campaign?

Have you asked them? There are many good causes that would benefit women and families competing for their attention and unless you draw this petition to their attention they won't necessarily have noticed it.

OutsideLookingOut · 22/02/2024 19:54

Signed!

ThisHonestQuail · 22/02/2024 19:55

Signed. I was fobbed off for 20 painful years and when I eventually got my lap they couldn’t remove all the endo because it was so close to my lung!

The lack of knowledge and funding is so shocking and really infuriates me.

sakes · 22/02/2024 20:03

How would you go about asking mumsnet to run a campaign?

OP posts:
Datafan55 · 22/02/2024 20:05

done

ThisHonestQuail · 23/02/2024 07:55

I’ve just seen that March is endometriosis awareness month so would be amazing if they could do a campaign! I think you just email them 😌

How would you go about asking mumsnet to run a campaign?

You could hit the Report button on your post and ask - perhaps they could pin a link to the petition during March so that more people see it. Maybe you or another poster who has endometriosis could offer to write something about it as an intro, that sort of thing?

RufustheFactualReindeer · 23/02/2024 08:34

Signed, dh has signed it as well

RufustheFactualReindeer · 23/02/2024 08:35
