I visited there on a cruise and hated the place. I had no idea about this annual event though. Just felt so eerie. DH didn't like it either. It should have been wonderful as the scenery is nice. But I couldn't wait to get back on the ship. Then last week a friend shared this petition and I thought I bet somehow I've sensed this?
They get their dcs involved. It's a celebration. Absolutely barbaric.

They've been trying for years to stop it. Maybe this will be the year it happens? Lots of cruises go there. I'm rather surprised they didn't check the timing of the slaughter before going.
There was one beach we visited I felt awful. I was actually depressed. I had no clue about this. No one mentioned it. I wonder if it was the actual beach?

Thanks for highlighting that too. It's all wrong. I've just been reading where they're trying to find a way to scan for whales. Hopefully they'll find a good way soon?

Some family members of mine were on the cruise ship that saw all those whales slaughtered. The captain had to apologize to everyone on board. It was an adults only cruise so no children on board thank goodness. There was people crying and a marine conservationist board was absolutely distraught. Many had gone on the cruise mainly to see the marine life. I will definitely sign it.
