If it's confirmed to be them, they could be given a dignified burial. If they can verify it and get information on how they died, it would also give more indications as to whether Richard III was responsible, or if he was slandered by Henry VII, also a possible suspect. Apparently the king is more amenable to researching it than the Queen was, so if enough people sign perhaps something will finally come to light.

Kokopenny, There are also possible bones near Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville in St George's chapel. These are what the king may offer to be examined, not the Westminster bones in the petition -sorry for the mistake.
The Westminster bones were found under the White Tower staircase, (yet another set of unidenitified bones were found in a walled up chamber, these could also be the Princes) - Thomas More wrote that the bones were put under a staircase and then moved, so it's only a partial match, since this staircase hadn't been built at the time. Apparently velvet was found near, meaning they were possibly highborn. The 1933 examination did not ascertain the sex of the bones, assuming they were the Princes with no further investigation, but did prove they were about the right ages.

On whether Richard did it, most (mainly pro-Tudor) accounts say he did, and he was the only one with access to the tower. If they were killed, he was probably behind it. But it is possible one -or, less likely, both- of the boys survived - perhaps the pretender Perkin Warbeck, or perhaps living incognito. If the Westminster bones are found to be the Princes in the Tower, they could be given a proper funeral -as Richard was- and we could possibly learn more about their lives, not just their horrible ends, from the bones, as we did Richard. (I also think the George's Chapel and any other bones should be tested if the Westminster bones aren't them). If it isn't them, they still be given a dignified reinternment without a false identity. If we examine all the evidence, it would also let us reassess whether Richard was behind it -it's wrong to come to conclusions without examining all the available evidence.
