This petition has been sitting on the petitions thread getting no where with little time left to go.. I thought people might pay more attention to it here.
Children are being subtlety brainwashed.
Remove references to 'gender identity' from relationships education guidance
^Since 2020 the DfE has published guidance for relationships and sex education. This says "Pupils should be taught the facts and the law about sex, sexuality, sexual health and gender identity in an age-appropriate and inclusive way". Gender identity is a social construct, and not recognised in law.*
There's no evidence that we're born with a ‘gender identity’, and we do not believe that schools should be teaching children about this concept. We also believe that teaching school children about gender identity is inconsistent with the Education Act (section 406), which prohibits 'political indoctrination'. The Government should remove all references to 'gender identity' from guidance on relationships and sex education.
This has only 5,084 signatures so far. It needs 10,000 the government will respond.

I can’t bear to think of children being given such confusing messages about something so fundamental to life as the two sexes ‘male’ and ‘female’, or to think they could be made to feel they may be in the ‘wrong’ body because they don’t conform to stereotypes of gender.

It's such a load of rubbish, isn't it? 2 years ago, I was out with my daughter and her friend and friend's mother. She came out with, "Ella's gender is boy, because she climbs trees and plays football."
I asked where she'd got that from and she told me that they'd learned it at school. I tried to explain the difference between sex and gender, but they were all, "Eurgh! You said a swear! we're not allowed to say the "S" word at school!"
We adults tried a bit more and if the subject has arisen since, I've tried a bit of simple explanation. She was adamant that gender is sex, because her teacher said so. She knows that adults can get it wrong, because if I do, I always tell her I was, if it transpires that I was wrong.

At 10,000 signatures, government will respond to this petition.
That would be good.
The petition to update the Equality Act to make clear that sex means biological sex has so many signatures that it should reach the 100, 000 on time that a debate in the HoC would be considered.
But if all along children are actively being taught the idea that sex has nothing to do with biology, that the only thing that counts is gender, and whether you like pink or blue, what point is there? They are the future.

If you struggle to see the similarities between section 28 and what OP is suggesting then you may want to take a break from this forum and spend some time in real life.
Trying to pretend that trans people don't exist will only have the effect of making some more miserable people, just as pretending that gay ppl don't exist before - they'll come out eventually, but angry at a system that made that harder - just as some are now.
It's amazing the lengths you want to go to punish us for existing.

yes. It was a horrific piece of work.
Please explain though, clearly for those reading along, what this has to do with gender identity. No vague hand waves of ‘if you can’t see it’, very clear points with relevant evidence. Surely you have that to hand considering the authority claimed on other posts.
Cut the hyperbole and engage. Otherwise this is just distraction.

How are teachers and HLTAs supposed to teach this with any degree of understanding when those who come here absolutely steeped in gender identity beliefs and q theory can’t explain it? Wtf is going to happen the first time a kid sticks their hand up and asks a question? No one answers questions here. Hand waving and “if you don’t understand” shouldn’t feature in education.

Children who do not conform to gender stereotypes, in what they like to play with or what they like to wear, should not be given misleading information suggesting they may be someone who has a ‘gender identity’ at odds with the sex of their body.
Indeed, as a certain percentage of such children may grow up to be homosexual, (while the majority will grow up heterosexual) it is actually homophobic to hint they need to change their body to make themselves more ‘correct’.
So please stop the ‘This is section 28 all over again hijacking.’
Apart from anything else homosexuality would never promote grave physical harm in the way that puberty blockers, cross sex hormones, or surgeries do - and make no mistake this is what teaching ‘gender identity’ paves the way for.
Or leave unexplored, problems relating to past traumas, sexual abuse, being in care, being autistic, or being homosexual in the way that an assumption of an inner gender being at odds with a body does in cases where a child exhibits dysphoria about their body.
Or cause harm to women and children by encouraging the idea that gender trumps sex to the degree that it is fine for a male who identifies as a woman to be in a women’s prison, have their crimes recorded as committed by a woman, be allowed in women’s refuges, be allowed in women’s rape crisis centres, be allowed in a women’s hospital ward, be allowed in women’s changing rooms and lavatories, be allowed to compete in women’s sports with their completely different body type, be allowed to ‘win’ women’s prizes, have a right to a relationship with a homosexual woman ( or vice versa in the case of a woman who identifies as a man).
This petition is against teaching ‘gender identity’ ideology.
