Frankly I’m bored of the “at least the conservatives know what a woman is,” argument that people keep trotting out.
Self ID is an issue which is potentially here to stay, although TBH I’m not actually convinced that it is but that’s another discussion.
But if there is a discussion to be had then it is going to be an ongoing one, regardless of who you vote for.
The problem I have with labour is that they have spent the past 3 years sniping at the tories. Telling them what they’re doing wrong, but at no point have they actually come up with counter policies or ideas as to what they would do in the same situations.
Keir Starmer having made one impassioned speech on Monday does not alter everything. They have a long way to go to convince a large portion of the electorate, and it may be possible. But if we push for an election now then there are a lot of people who still aren’t going to vote for them. And it doesn’t matter that they don’t vote for the tories, if labour don’t get those votes then the tories stand to win again, and then we’ll be here for the next 5 years.
Better to stick it out for another 2 years to let the Labour Party get on track, than to end up with another 5 years
