I honestly can't believe that anyone thinks it's ok that mediocre men are now taking women's places in sports, smashing their records on their first attempt in some cases. Not to mention the physical risk to women in some sports.

Mumsnet moving it and not responding is another push towards stopping me using Mumsnet. Seems anything they don't want discussed gets pushed aside to try and hide it.

To be fair to MN moving petitions is a general policy & I've seen it applied to other issues too.

Yes, as I said upthread it's a blanket rule. One which I wish MNHQ would revisit (or at least explain clearly) but it's not them taking sides or specifically hiding petitions re women's rights.

So for now the only recourse is to keep bumping the thread into active convos. That does at least have the merit that people who don't visit specific boards may get to see petitions on important issues. And do have a look down the rest of the petitions board.

What would it take to get this pinned or a sticky note so it appears at the top of the list of Active Conversations?

Ooh it's changed to "get it to 50,000" signatures so it's definitely passed 35000.

Tbh I'd rather have some way to signpost and give greater prominence to the Petitions board in general. I'm 100% behind this one, and it's time-sensitive - but there are often other petitions with equal or perhaps even greater importance. (Just take a look at the first few at the moment!). I can't see MNHQ wanting to pin petitions unless they relate to one of their own campaigns.

One thing which perhaps could be allowed within the general rules is for boards which may have a particular interest in certain petitions to have a 'check out those petitions' type of thread, with links to the threads on the petitions board.
(That sounds more convoluted than it really is). That might serve the purpose of promoting issues of interest to specific groups without risk of 'spamming' .
