Please sign this petition to ask the government to implement home learning from 9 December so those of us who want to can self-isolate before seeing elderly relatives at Christmas can do so

I work in school and won't be signing.

It would be a disaster for some of our struggling families to have to deal with the childcare at such short notice and even worse for those children already dreading 2 weeks at home over Christmas.

Stop being so wrapped up in your own issues and think about people in far worse circumstances.

If you want to keep your children at home do so but don't inflict this on children who really need to be in school.

We’ve missed birthdays, funerals, weddings, anniversary celebrations etc this year - by far the thing that had the worst impact on my child’s mental health was not being able to see her friends and carry on learning at school.

Why on earth are we trying to take that away from the kids, at arguably the most fun time to be in school, for a couple of days with family? I miss my family horribly, but no way am I risking their health for a couple of days, esp when there’s hopefully a vaccine on the way. You can’t only catch the virus from your school-aged child you know.

Get your priorities straight, for Christ’s sake.

No thank you. I have a job.

If you need to see vulnerable relatives over Christmas then take your kids out of school and pay the fine. Don’t insist half the population lose two weeks wages so that you can see Grannie.

I have relatives I’d love to see so I will FaceTime them over Christmas and meet up with them as soon as they’ve been vaccinated.

No chance.

Sodding Christmas instead. Wouldn't be the end of the world to just stay at home and have a quiet one for once.
