Now I’m never a big fan of these petitions, but with the very real possibility of having a premature baby in the next week or so this has really struck a cord.
I’m not bothered about the expenses, what I am bothered about is the covid testing. We all want our children to be safe and we all want to be able to hold them. Some NICUs are asking parents to be covid tested before allowing them near their preemies. If this is the case surely these need to be expedited if at all possible. Like it’s not scary enough giving birth to a sick or premature baby, but then not even being able to see, touch or hold them?
If people can ask for extra paid maternity to go to baby sensory I feel justified to ask for an expedited covid test to meet my child, to try and establish feeding, to be able to give kangaroo care.
