If you haven’t heard this story which has been circulating on SM for a few weeks, Warwickshire County Council have been found to be promoting/using a site called “Respect Yourself” for sex education in the county.

The website is deeply disturbing and details what can only be described as niche sexual practices as well as actively promoting porn as a positive thing. Bear in mind this site is aimed at children as young as 13.

A petition has been set up calling on WCC to revoke their decision to use the site and can be found here: www.change.org/p/warwickshire-county-council-stop-warwickshire-cc-normalising-the-use-of-pornography-by-children-s

In the link is a letter outlining some of the many concerns about this site. I’ll post the full text in the next post.

Please sign and share the petition.

Have signed. Of course teenagers may encounter these activities through accessing porn - it doesn't mean schools should be promoting them.

Signed. Normalising fetish and harmful sexual practices via schools is state-sanctioned grooming.

I'm also surprised tbh.

Checking back in to see if there is any news following the removal of the programme from the WCC website - article I've seen says it will be independently reviewed and back online 2-3 months tops so I'm guessing this month or next?

(And for those who said the petition will do nothing, well, you were wrong...)
