Johnathan Best has started a petition urging Stonewall to take its head out of its arse and then think about its nonsensical trans policies:

Was fuck off transphobic bigots
Why care about women. And girls
Fuck off women and girls

I am so pleased about this petition and letter because it will give us a conversation opener for challenging Stonewall in schools.

gendercritter · 04/10/2018 11:48

Thanks! Will go and sign now then. Ridiculous anyone has to be concerned about signing a petition

thecompletenonsequitur · 04/10/2018 11:52

Signed. Thanks for doing this Johnathan.

thatdamnwoman · 04/10/2018 12:15

Note to nervous people: you can do it anonymously.

wopbamboo · 04/10/2018 14:12

I've signed

TheFemaleGaze · 04/10/2018 14:20

Also filled out the GRA consultation today. I hit my limit. Now I’m just angry at the way all this is playing out.

AnchorMum · 04/10/2018 14:27

Signed - it's so important to get our collective voices out there.

Pandoraslastchance · 04/10/2018 15:11

Signed!!

UpstartCrow · 04/10/2018 15:19

If you cannot acknowledge sex based rights you cannot challenge homophobia or protect gay rights.

StoatofDisarray · 04/10/2018 15:21

Signed.

pearlkent · 04/10/2018 15:24

Signed, and my partner has too.

Bolloxio · 04/10/2018 15:25

'The petition also asks us to acknowledge that there is a conflict between trans rights and ‘sex based women’s rights’. We do not and will not acknowledge this. Doing so would imply that we do not believe that trans people deserve the same rights as others'

Well isn't that a shock.

I saw the response before signing the petition, but still signed anyway. I got my husband to sign too as he is aghast at how women are being treated in this.

RubyViolet · 04/10/2018 17:00

Radio 4 has just announced that they are going to debate the petition.

VickyEadie · 04/10/2018 17:14

Signed and shared.

ErrolTheDragon · 04/10/2018 17:49

John is on now

LondonLucy · 04/10/2018 18:13

I love the response from Stonewall. As a member of the LGB community - I want to do all I can to support my trans sisters and brothers. Love and acceptance all the way.

LondonLucy · 04/10/2018 18:14

I don't see why one minority is fighting another here - fight the common oppressor. Trans women don't remove any of my rights.

MsMcWoodle · 04/10/2018 18:14

He was great - but she got SO much more time than him.
It seemed to be a case of 'poor little stonewall, what influence do we have'.

LondonLucy · 04/10/2018 18:16

PS - I've never been pressured to have anyone as my sexual partner - including a trans woman - where does that come from?!?

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 04/10/2018 18:28

That's great Lucy.
How do you feel about women being imprisoned with rapists?
Do you think elderly women needing intimate care should no longer have the right to have that care provided by a biological woman if that is important to them?
Do you think you would be OK, if you were sectioned, to share your ward with a biological male who sits around close to you with his willy hanging out?

RepealtheGRA · 04/10/2018 18:30

Hi Lucy

Would you be happy to share a changing room with Jacinta here?

Which prison should Jacinta go to?

littlecabbage · 04/10/2018 18:51

Lucy,

I used to think the FWR boards looked transphobic.

But then I started really reading the threads, and realised that this isn't about the small proportion of society that is genuinely gender dysphoric.

It's about preventing the law giving any man with a fully functioning penis the right to be in women-only spaces where they may make women feel vulnerable at best, but will also find it easy to carry out voyeurism/assault/rape.

Seriously, start reading.

ErrolTheDragon · 04/10/2018 19:02

I've never been pressured to have anyone as my sexual partner - including a trans woman - where does that come from?!?

from lesbians who have been pressurised by TW ... told they're transphobic for not being attracted to 'lady cock'. (That was what the protest at pride by some lesbians was specifically about).

If you believe there can be an intact male 'lesbian' - well, you do you, but I hope you would support other women's right to assert their preferences?
