Who would sign a petition where you can't even see the material that the petition is referring to? How can you expect to go to parliament with a petition when you haven't even said what it is you are objecting to?

And if its so blatantly anti LGBT why not link to it and allow people to read for themselves? Is it because its not actually anti LGBT at all? (Whatever this mysterious 'material' is....?)

@Delendaest will you ever come back and let us know which the material you are referring to? Those of us with LGBTQ kids are even if we haven't have a right to know, what is allegedly happening.

Hello, warmwishes This is a general petition against any and all anti LGBT+ material in schools. The suggestions colleagues have offered thus far have been very helpful (even if that were not the intent) and will be shared with the politicians etc who support this petition. So do, please, keep on making those suggestions.

No, I don't think you get how this stuff works.

You have to actually reference material and explain exactly how it is anti LGBT (and + of course 🙄). You can't expect people (well people with any critical thinking skills anyway) to sign a petition when you aren't telling them what material they are signing about.

If this petition were to get to Parliament, what materials would be being referenced? You can't sign a petition without knowing that!

Examples please.

With the greatest of respect, I can't understand why anyone would create a petition vs. something which 'might' happen, surely it should be vs something which 'is' happening.

There are so many things that might happen in school, I could write petitions all day and let my imagination run riot.

If this is happening in my school, I would like to know, so please link me to some examples so that I can investigate and if necessary take action at a grass roots level. If you can't do this, then don't waste our time with nonsense.

@Delendaest so, is this a petition against promoting affirmation for trans children in schools then?

I ask as many people have serious concerns that the affirmation model is essentially anti-LGB - effectively LGB conversion therapy.

It’s really not hard, people. You are in favour of anti LGBT+ material in schools, or you are not. I find myself surprised that mums - you are all mums, no? - could find this a hard choice. Are you really all so young that you have forgotten Section 28?

Delendaest. Could you just confirm for me that you personally believe that the Transgender Trend schools guidance is not anti LGBT in any way?

Alternatively, consider that this website has a high concentration of very educated and well informed women. A link to a shitty petition won't cut it. Maybe start again when you are able to form a reasonable argument.

I've had a look through and I haven't got all day but in the schools resources section I see no reference to LGBT at all and therefore nothing that implies conversion policy, which is specifically mentioned in the petition.

So can you link the lgbt conversion policy agenda in that link?
