I am desperately trying to gain signatures to have a sentence reviewed on behalf of the parents of my grandsons best friend. He was killed last year after being hit by a driver whilst literally one step behind my grandson. After a year of denying responsibility, the driver finally changed his plea in December last year. He was convicted of causing death by careless driving and sentenced to two years imprisonment (of which he will serve only approximately one year). The family feel that this is a smack in the face and has added to their grief. His mother spends most of her time at the cemetery and her life will never be the same.
