Apologies if this has already been posted but it really important for many reasons (especially for the provision of woman services, to record abuse against woman and the gender pay gap), please sign;

Living not sure why you feel the need to be so aggressive if you don’t** agree don’t sign or start your own petition. As a woman I am entitled to be concerned about this and share my concerns with others.
Recording biological sex is not bigotry, how could it possibly be.

Also the government already know how many males and females are born each year and how many emigrate and immigrate so they do already have the data tbh

But that data is not connected to things like income, occupation, education level etc. that the census records so its not much use.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 18/10/2017 18:43

Also the government already know how many males and females are born each year

If the ONS chooses to remove "sex?" as one of the questions from the census due to concerns about inclusivity, is it beyond the realms of possibility that the NHS may be required to stop recording sex at birth as well?

ErrolTheDragon · 18/10/2017 19:02

Itsall - Reports in the papers this week said the NHS is going to start asking people routinely first about their sexuality and later their 'gender' ... that'd make no sense whatever without accurate record of sex. But 'making no sense whatever' seems unfortunately quite likely...

AuntyElle · 20/10/2017 10:55

ItsAll There is a risk of a huge loss of reality, with relatively few people having any idea what's going on or the implications for women.
