PLEASE READ , SHARE AND SIGN MY PETITION
www.change.org/p/david-cameron-mp-saving-babies-from-group-b-strep-routinely-test-pregnant-women-for-gbs-using-the-ecm-test

On 23rd October 2015 our 4th child, Faith, was stillborn full term plus 9 days.

When we received all the results back following Faiths death I found out I had Group B Strep. I will be treated for GBS in future pregnancies, but have had to wait for my baby to die to find out I even had it!!!

I am now passionate about raising awareness of the possible risks of GBS.

GBS is not routinely tested for in the UK so I have started a petition for all pregnant women to be routinely tested for GBS using the ECM test.

I would be so grateful if you would READ, SIGN and SHARE my petition.
Thank you x

I'm very sorry for your loss. My first baby had a GBS infection & ended up in SCBU a couple of hours after birth. I realise we were very lucky - the midwife stayed with us after he was born and spotted that he was 'grunting' (I wouldn't have noticed this myself). I've read around this subject quite extensively and do not agree with the RCOG on this one - seems to be cost driven rather than anything else. There was another petition on the GBSS website - I'll put on a link if it's still there.

I am so sorry for your loss,
i was found to have GBS when carrying so measures could be taken to make sure my baby was safe and i asked why they dont test routinely, i was told it is because it can come and go so the test could come back negative and you could have it later in your pregnancy.

Signed. I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a UTI when pregnant which was how I was found to test positive. Regardless of being in my first trimester I was treated as if I still had it for the whole pregnancy. I had a massive warning sticker on my maternity notes and was not allowed to give birth anywhere other than a hospital. My labour was so quick that there was no time for antibiotics given to me. Dd2 had to have them instead and we were kept in until she got the all clear. Without that UTI we would have had none of that care.

They were really surprised when I tested positive after my son was found to have a GBS infection. Not sure why as their current testing during pregnancy is so very hit and miss Angry
