To urge you to please please sign this petition? Closing Hospice

The staff here are going to all lose their jobs, they looked after my father when he died and they looked after us too. There is not another hospice for 30 miles in our area and this will affect many people at their most vulnerable. My father was given dignity and care - i would hate to think that others may not be able to access this in their time of need.

Signed, in Scotland but these are amazing places. My husband was in one for two weeks before he came home to die. Couldn't have survived without it.

Thankyou so much, like i say, i haven't organised this petition but it means a lot to me. I don't think it makes a difference if you are local or not as its about provision and the fact that this service should be available for as many people as need it.

It angers me that these places have to rely on charity to exist, a bit less money bailing out banks and mp expenses and more money on one of the most vulnerable groups in society because one day, most of us will need to turn to these places for support.

Signed. Will never forget how lovely everyone at my local hospice were with my grandad in his final days.

I'm really upset to find out the Pilgrims Hospice is closing. They provided outstanding end of life care for my beloved Grandma who died just before Christmas last year. None of the rest of our familu live in Canterbury and were all travelling hundreds of miles from various parts of the country every weekend. It was an awful time but the staff there were so kind and supportive. I'm heartbroken to think it might be shut down. Please please sign and share.
