My gorgeous girl Indy was diagnosed with Lymphoma after a large tumour was found on her spleen. We received the dreaded phone call saying she may not make it after the splenectomy due to massive blood loss. Thanks to a blood transfusion from the vets own brave doggy she pulled through.

Four weeks on & she has just had her 3rd chemo session & is doing well, lymph glands are down & she is bouncing around like tigger. There is no cure but she could have 6 - 18 months to enjoy life. We only had a shirt time to decide if we wanted to give her chemo or let her go within a few weeks. It was so hard to decide what was best but as dogs don't react as badly as us humans we scraped the money together & she has fought this nasty disease with no side effects to date.

We have created a bucket list for her doing all the things she loves, a visit to the beach, a walk through the woodlands at a certain National Trust property, a new squeaky toy every week (she goes through them in hours)

Today I entered her in the contest for Pets That Make A Home, from Taylor Wimpey. The prize money would be such a help as chemo is very expensive if any of you would be able to vote for Indy she would really appreciate it. A

The photo is what we all say to cancer!

Thank you to all that vote for our baby girl.

Voted and shared.

Good luck - I lost my beloved Jack Russell a few weeks ago (she was nearly seventeen) - Jack Russell are such wonderful little characters - I hope you get the longest possible time left with your Indy.

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 26/04/2014 22:17

Thank you so much KurriKurri, JR's have the biggest personalities don't they. So sorry you lost your girl, they really are a big part of the family. Dreading the day we have to stop treatment but she is still with us & loving life for now, every day is special.

Have voted. I feel your pain re vets bills. Our beloved dog was hit by a car 2 weeks ago and sadly we had to let him go to sleep yesterday. Insurance only covered a tiny bit of what he needed. He was part Jack, so your lovely dog reminds me of him. Hope you have a lovely time with her for the rest of her days Envy

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 27/04/2014 11:10

Thank you Saucepanman, I'm so sorry for the loss of your boy it really is heartbreaking to have to make the decision to let them go. Insurance doesn't cover chemotherapy either the total bill is expected to be around 5k if she continues to do well.

Got the hang of this voting lark! See you tomorrow.

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 27/04/2014 18:37

Yay thanks Teeny, I've just been banned from a Dog Lovers forum for life as I told Indy's story & added the link for the contest & the reasons why I had entered her photo.

I can see it could be classed as spam but surely I should have been warned first as there was nothing in the sites guidelines/rules about adding a link to contests you were in? Sent an email apologising but I'm not expecting a response.

Just voted ~ all the best Indy :)

Heffalumps, is there any way you can see who's in the lead?

ICanSeeTheSun · 27/04/2014 19:01

Think I have voted, I click vote and my screen goes blank.

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 27/04/2014 19:26

Thank you both, I don't think there is a leader board unfortunately so I don't know how Indy is doing? You can scroll through all the other entrants but it takes an age. The closest in number of votes I have seen is 185 but I lost patience as I'd been clicking the view more entrants tab for 10 minutes as it only shows a few at a time.
