indique les lignes qui confirment tes responses.

Would you say LES LIGNES means that dd's teacher wants the whole sentence or just the phrase which explains her answer?

I would think the lines in a paragraph. A phrase or a sentence on one or a couple of lines.

I am learning French (so I am not an expert!) - if I had these instructions I assume it would mean they don't want the answer in note form, but in a sentence on one or two lines and a clear label indicating what question is being answered.

mumonthenet · 28/03/2009 10:06

ok thanks.

she just put the phrases that explained her answers, but in some cases not the whole sentence. I think the meanie teacher wanted the entire sentence...even if the second part of the sentence wasn't relevant to the answer iyswim.

She hates this teacher which is a shame, cos she used to love French.

ta again.

"Pharse" is sentence in french, however if I remember correctly "lignes" is another way teaches use for sentences/not one word answers.

If she needs any french help let me know -can pop my email add on here.

Bonne chance

Thanks claire,

I'll come back and shout for you if we need to.

I do speak quite good French myself, which is why, when looking at her test, I wondered if that "lignes" business was a little ambiguous.

Thanks.
