Don't see any difference in the OED, and they're both the same age, afaics - early C14th.

How odd, I was thinking about this today. It was In The Night Garden that made me think of it. I don't think I've ever used 'somebody'.

Actually, I've just read some more, and somebody has slightly broader meaning - you might say "she's a Somebody" as in a VIP - often sarcastically, but you wouldn't use someone for that.
