Why are they always phrased thus?

Why does no-one ever print them as 'Don't post any bills please'?

Are they standard HMSO issue? They always appear to be in the same typeface.

Because if they put "BILL POSTERS WILL BE PROSECUTED" someone will write underneath "BILL POSTERS IS INNOCENT"

(Sorry, can't answer your question).

Not sure, but I want one to put over my letterbox {wink}

if only it were that easy.

Does the notice refer to bills in the form of letters being popped through the letterbox then? Surely postmen can't abide by notices pasted on windows? I always assumed the notice referred to bills as in posters on the windows (advertising some weird gig or club).

However, if the documents are indeed HMSO issue, maybe postmen are authorised to abide by them and that is why they all look excatly the same?!
