I was not familiar with this term pre-MN. Having done some research it appears to indicate indifference. Is this the case with MN usage?
I do think it is a wonderfully expressive word and have resolved to use it more often.

It's new-ish to me, too, and I regard it with some affection. Jolly useful.

RustyBear · 16/01/2009 23:39

meh

It's a favourite word of DS, I first came across it in an MSN conversation with him.

KingCanuteIAm · 16/01/2009 23:40

Isn't this the one that was added to the OED this time round?

Hate it

How do we say "meh" with the appropriate intonation then? In case I need to use it any time soon? I am imagining it to be quite phonetic...?

snowboo · 16/01/2009 23:42

I thought this was an annoying word used by my teenage nephew! God, need to start getting hip and cool....

Molesworth · 16/01/2009 23:43

Bibi, open your mouth and make a dismissive shape with it, a silent snarl if you will. The correct sound should come out. IMHO.

I shrug when I say it.

edam · 16/01/2009 23:53

It's like vocalising that shrug that Parisennes do so well.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 17/01/2009 00:01

Edam it is very like [[dictionary.reverso.net/french-english/bof bof]

BoysAreLikeDogs · 17/01/2009 00:02

BlackEyedDogstar · 17/01/2009 00:09
