More precisely, when used in a jaunty faux-conversational style on a chat thread - "So, today I made dd a cake....." for example.

Just felt the need to get that out of my system. Thank you so very much.

LOL at the juxtaposition of this and the 'So, today I was parked in the M&B spaces....' one in my active convos .

My sister in law uses it at the end of a sentence to indicate disagreement:

As in: "I see you are tobogganning, I figured I have a bit of a cold so........"

It's very Carrie Bradshaw.

Loathe this when used in a "That is SO not true!" way, or "I am SO not going there"

Bleurgh

You should move to Co. Cork, they say so at the end of every sentence, so.

Ah yes Swedes - as in "Grand, so"

Swedes · 12/12/2008 15:24

'So' and 'like' together in a teen sentence:

So I was like now way and he was so like sterrrrrict. I said "I am so not going to sit in the back seat of the car it's so like babyISH." And my dad was like "You are so going to try my patience."

Swedes · 12/12/2008 15:25

now no way.

UnquietDad · 14/12/2008 13:54

That use of "So" ("I am so not doing that") comes from "Friends", doesn't it?
