LynetteScavo · 04/09/2008 13:15

Ishoo

ishoo

ishoo

squeaver · 04/09/2008 13:18

I agree. It's not even funny. Or is it and I'm just not getting it?

tortoiseshell · 04/09/2008 13:20

You are being very norty complaining about ishoos!

solo · 04/09/2008 13:38

I don't get it either squeaver.
Norty? NORTY? Ha!
Do people genuinely think issue is written that way? Maybe it's because some pronounce it that way and some pronounce it with a ssss sound? Do those that say/spell ishoo also say tishoo?
English is such a beautiful language, why is it being changed by some?

I can almost feel the missiles wending their way toward me!

Hijack alert! Solo, did you find that strawberry tiramisu recipe? I'm having people for dinner on Sat, and I'd love to try it out.

OP posts:
tortoiseshell · 04/09/2008 14:25

ll - quite!

Dreyfus · 04/09/2008 14:25

Ishoo is used, obviously, by those who feel slightly precious about using 'issue' - as if they're trotting-out a well-worn cliche. They want you to know they know it's a precious, up-oneself, pretentious, 21st-century psychobabbly cliche.

There's a wealth of hidden meaning and weight lurking underneath what you might think is a merely lazy, text-speaky mis-spelling.

georgiemum · 04/09/2008 14:27

tishoo? Or is it like 'yoof'?

Overmydeadbody · 04/09/2008 14:28

What dreyfus said.

It's the hidden meaning tongue in cheek use. Like norty or blardy.

I like it.

Uriel · 04/09/2008 14:29

like farking norks

Uriel · 04/09/2008 14:29

solo · 04/09/2008 14:41

...well, I can't be norty, I have ishoos wiv tishoos and as 4 yoofs, wel! it's jus rong!

OP posts:
solo · 04/09/2008 14:42

I've now broken out in hives!

OP posts:
PortAndLemon · 04/09/2008 14:44

Yes, ishoos means "what I would, were I terribly American and earnest and psychobabbly about it, call issues".

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 04/09/2008 14:45

's when yoove got ishoo wiv sumwon init?
hun.

Teuch · 04/09/2008 14:46

What Dreyfus said.

Subtext: "I know I sound like that twat Jeremy Kyle with the misfits on his programme, but let me go right ahead and say it anyway..."

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 04/09/2008 14:47

Sumwon or sumfing, anyways.

solo · 04/09/2008 15:14

Surely not sumfing? shouldn't it be sumfin?

OP posts:
solo · 04/09/2008 15:21
