I always thought that adviser was correct and advisor was just american spelling

TheOldestCat · 03/09/2008 12:41

I think both are standard spellings, although I agree with Basementbear that advisor 'seems' more American.

Our house style at work is adviser.

SlartyBartFast · 03/09/2008 12:45

try this

AllFallDown · 03/09/2008 15:15

Advisor is indeed American (as are most "sor" endings). Go with adviser.

I love you Basementbear

LOL "I always thought that adviser was correct and advisor was just american spelling"

a rule many should learn to live by I feel ... Look, it's right or it's American it cannot be both simultaneously.

Boyswillbeboys · 03/09/2008 18:45

Well, if its being used in a British context, it should be spelt the English way surely? If its being used by an American then I suppose we have to accept the American spelling!

You're good, you're very good!

Thanks for that.
