Injections aren't scratches and heat isn't sticky

Going for an injection and they always say "it's just a scratch" - I've never had an injection that's scratched yet. It's a prick. Are they too scared of the word?

Saying it's "sticky" referring to heat. It's never been sticky. Stuffy, sweaty, muggy, humid but sticky???

Ibalso.wonder why.they say "well.done" to me even all I have done is sat there and had a needle pushed into me. I did nothing.

Half the time not saying “well done” to you, the well done is for me, for getting it first time 😅
it’s also a useful way to signal it’s all done. I never ever say sharp scratch though, because I think it’s such a fib.

Back in the olden days we nurses used to say 'a little prick' - can't remember when scratch came about

I've tried saying other things and have found that I can't, it's like a reflex as soon as I come near someone with a needle the words "sharp scratch " come out of my mouth.

Do they really? Grown adults?

Oh yes, my nephew goes rigid and/or faints which renders it almost impossible for any one to get near him with a needle.
He has to be drugged up to the eyeballs to go to the dentist. He's very embarrassed about it but can't do anything about it.

So glad I’m not the only person that thinks this when they say ‘just a scratch’ I reckon they must be trained to say that!

Agree about the injection/blood tests; it never bloody feels like a scratch, more like a sting!

B12 injections don’t scratch, they’re much more uncomfortable. I have no problems having blood samples taken, and I’ve found most injections relatively painless. But B12? Ouch.
