It started with floor-drobe, continued on to chair-drobe, accelerating quickly to bed-drobe. I'm sorry but I just can't ignore the brassy newcomer: bra-drobe. As in, " I've recently been sorting through my bra-drobe ". What I'm struggling with is this: why are people putting the letter d in there after the hyphen? Surely the word wardrobe contains two words, ward and robe and if you're going to use your own word in place of ward then the second word robe, should in no way have a stray "d" pushed in before it. Has anyone else noticed this or do I have far too much spare time on my hands?
