Addressing an envelope...

I am quite scared about posting in this topic so be nice to me please.

I am sending a note-card to the headmistress of the school where both my sons attend and I am a student also.
It is an informal note expressing thanks for support she has personally given me, it does not involve the children at all.
My dilemma is she may not know who I am.
I would like to write who (whom?) the card is from on the envelope.
How would I go about this?

Why would you not just write it on the inside, in the card?

Surely the envelope will simply have her name on it?

Also.. If she has given you that much personal support that you are writing her a card of thanks, then surely she will know who you are?

Would you not write your name inside the card? What do you want to achieve by writing your name on the envelope. I think it would look a bit odd.

Buy some nice quality envelopes and paper, use an ink pen and your envelope will be opened. Use your full name inside the card. If she has given you support she will know who you are, I promise.

Thanks everyone.
It is a large school and I am just one student TA doing one day a week out of what seems like hundreds. (OK prob about 20-30 plus volunteers - which I also have done)
It is a note to say thank you for your support but I will not be returning type thing.
I just thought that by putting my name outside the envelope it would give her a chance to recall who I was and what I had done there before she read the contents. Instead of reading it first and thinking 'Who the.. oh her'

I think it would be best just to put your name on the end of the card, as normal.

Nice gesture, by the way
