I saw tryna on a thread earlier and at first wondered if it was some new Cayleeigha-Jayde sort of name.

I'm long familiar with tryna, imma, and even cunta. Going in the opposite direction, tara is only one word (meaning goodbye) that's been shortened. However in informal use in northern UK cities, it is sometimes repeated rapid-fire thus: 'T'ra-t'ra-t'ra-t'ra-t'ra' five to seven times.
