My DD came home with a painting on which the teacher had written 'A Terradactyl'.

The teacher was a bit of a Ptyrannosaurus so I didn't say anything.

There is a preschool at our local church with a sign on the railings stating:

we have space's avalaible

Needless to say it does not have a waiting list whilst the other preschool in our village has a two year one!

Sheik are you sure it's not a draw for scissor's?

SheikYerbouti · 18/05/2008 16:45

draw?

StealthPolarBear · 18/05/2008 20:27

seems a common one to me - no one else come across the draw/drawer mix up?

I'm still at having slated (albeit in my head and on here!!) a YR2 teacher at open day for "practise these spellings" on the board and have now been informed it is actually correct...I thought it should have been "Practice" The shame.

Interesting reading people's comments about Latin teaching them grammar. My father was a classics and English teacher, and he always says that Latin should still be compulsory for this very reason. I had a primary school teacher who taught us grammar, and I loved it - I later found out from my mother (also a teacher in the same school) that the teacher could have got into trouble for this, as she was using a non-curriculum text book to do so, and grammar wasn't on the curriculum either!!
