This morning I’ve seen:

Mummy’s (for the most umpteenth time).

Henry’s

Simple plural each time. I don’t understand how either of these make sense even to the people who typed the words.

(I’m aware of all relevant common afflictions. It’s still mildly infuriating.)

I'm sure it's something in schools. DS came out of school (year 2/3) putting an apostrophe before every s at the end of a word. Drove me nuts. I've now explained to him what it means and he now points out the errors in usage to me!

Schools? Coo!

(Though laughing at the random word in my OP. It definitely appeared after I’d previewed and posted.)

The sort of person who pluralises the word "Mummy" really can't be relied on for any level of intelligence. 😅

Hmm … I fully accept that some people have difficulties with learning and some have had a poor education. And obviously English isn’t everyone’s first language. But I can’t help feeling that still leaves a heap of people who just aren’t bothered.

Mummy’s is particularly irksome on this forum. Particularly if it’s a parent who writes it.
