Campaigners for women's rights
But I'd go for A.

Blackcats7 · 28/06/2024 13:03

A

Custardandrhubarbcrumble · 28/06/2024 13:03

A
The rights (plural, no apostrophe required) belong to the women (a plural noun not ending in s)

Inspectorlemon · 28/06/2024 13:03

A

AGlinnerOfHope · 28/06/2024 13:03

A

Chersfrozenface · 28/06/2024 13:03

A if it has to be phrased like that.

'rights' is genitive in relation to 'women', 'women's rights' is adjectival in relation to 'campaigners', I would argue.

TheTripThatWasnt · 28/06/2024 13:04

A.
Women is already plural so the apostrophe comes before the s
Rights is a pluralised noun, not a possessive or missing a letter, so no apostrophe needed

DappledThings · 28/06/2024 13:08

Agree A. The rights belong to the women so they are women's rights. The campaigners are campaigners for those rights, they are not campaigners of those rights so no second apostrophe.

ArabellaFishwife · 28/06/2024 13:11

Another vote for A.

GCAcademic · 28/06/2024 13:11

A

NotTooOldPaul · 28/06/2024 14:11

I thought D but I must be wrong as everyone else thought A.

CaptainMyCaptain · 28/06/2024 14:24

A

AGlinnerOfHope · 28/06/2024 14:25

@NotTooOldPaul the apostrophe is about possession.
So women have rights.
Rights don't have campaigners.

Campaigners for the rights of women.
'Campaigners of the rights' doesn't mean anything.

fluffiphlox · 28/06/2024 14:26

A.

Thanks, I knew I was wrong but got myself confused.
