Was looking at Ds1's appointment letter today for his operation and saw that after his middle name (James) they had put 's, so it read 'Between now and XXXXXX James's admission' all through the letter, wherever there was James they had put 's after it...

What about Lois, is it Lois's or Lois'. I have always used the latter myself because it sounds like iz, what do you think?

I used to really struggle with this one, but recently got taught this:

If it's The rabbit of , then if you would say name-iz rabbit, then you write the s.

So, we say 'Jamesiz rabbit', so we write 'James's rabbit'.

But we say 'Mrs Bridges rabbit', so we write 'Mrs Bridges rabbit'.

I would say 'Loisiz rabbit', so I would write 'Lois's rabbit'.

(And yes, I know my apostrophes are funny here, it should probably be 'Jamesiz rabbit,', but it looks wrong.)
