They've changed their policy? There wasn't enough paint?

That branch is run by a greengrocer?

NotTooOldPaul · 13/06/2024 17:22

Does it belong to someone called Waterstone?

Where is this Waterstone's and is it a bookshop. Google suggests they are all Waterstones in Bristol.

Interesting. Google images finds some shop fronts that say Waterstones. And some (including my local one) that say Waterstone's.

And now, more than ten years after Waterstones enraged pedants everywhere by dropping the apostrophe from its name, it has been forgiven. The bookshop chain, which was founded by Tim Waterstone, who was knighted in 2018, made the alteration in 2012 to make the spelling easier in the digital age.

All’s forgiven, apostrophe guardian tells Waterstones

The Apostrophe Protection Society has revived its grammar accuracy campaign.
