"for ever" or "forever"

Which should I use in the following context please:

"I love my school and I want to be there f__"

I'm inclined to think it should be "for ever", but am now word blind.

Forever.

Technically for ever = for eternity. Though the nuances are changing over time and undoubtedly the two expressions will become synonyms in British English like they already are in US English.
