Letter from a company that are coming to fix something they installed. Headed paper, seemingly professional.
...The rectification engineer will call on. ..to hopefully rectify the work
...contact the undersigned...
...Please convey my sincerest apologies for the delay...

Do they think this crap makes them sound professional? That last one makes no sense!

Then they chuck in "we was very pleased to meet you" amongst all the long wordy bits.

I love a bit of big word bullshit! Is utilise a completely pointless word?

I think it has its place but not in 90% of the places it is actually utilised.
Maybe I should send them a few more big words they could misuse :)

We have such a plain English campaign at work, which can be frustrating sometimes when there's a big word that does the job. But when I get a letter like this I can se why we do it.

Dh also had an invitation from the local car dealership to a vip event. We would go, all dressed up, and they'd shoo the plebs out, lock the doors and allow us to buy a car from them! But we do have to rsvp.
