27% I am like strict school teacher !

LiberalPedant · 12/12/2013 22:16

I did want to argue with a few. There is nothing wrong with splitting an infinitive. And "my friends and me" is not incorrect if used as the subject of a sentence.

But as liberal as I like to think I am, I scored 5%.

LiberalPedant · 12/12/2013 22:17

I meant as an object.

13%. Quite pleased with that. Feel like it paints me as a very reasonable pedant. Prepared to accept the odd split infinitive, and even 'Me and my friends'. I draw the line at 'bearly' though. Idiots.

timidviper · 12/12/2013 22:27

I'm glad I'm not the only 1% here! Grin

LondonMother · 12/12/2013 22:28

Strict like a school teacher.

I can live with that
particularly since I did not get what was wrong with some of them

Jinglebellsforthebetter · 12/12/2013 22:35

Umm, not going it to say but, (channels Josh Lyman - it was "Hades low" Grin)

I keep it all to myself though, repress it, can't understand why I have this tic........... GrinGrinGrinGrin

Wednesbury · 12/12/2013 22:35

Agree with LiberalPedant on the split infinitive. The only reason we have that rule is because you couldn't split the infinitive in Latin, I believe.

It's considered OK now to boldly split infinitives. I can't remember if that was a Douglas Adams or Terry Pratchett joke.

AdoraBell · 12/12/2013 22:44

Maybe that is why I don't post here, I can't copeShock
