These things?

Is it "hear, hear!" or "here, here!"? My brain says it is "hear, hear!" but I'm not so sure anymore.

Choose/chose:
I am going to choose one now!
I chose that one yesterday.
Is that the right way round?

Lose/loose:
This belt is quite loose.
I don't want to lose it!
Is that the right way round too?

I feel like everything has fallen out of my brain!

I walked passed the shop

I struggle with past' and passed

Wolfiefan · 23/07/2013 23:32

Passed is past tense!

80sMum · 23/07/2013 23:32

Past is correct.

gaggiagirl · 23/07/2013 23:40

That's great thank you Smile

AmyFarrahFowlerCooper · 23/07/2013 23:40

Ill hijack that hijack and ask, is it like this:

I passed the shop.
I walked past the shop.

So passed is a verb and past is a... something?

OP posts:
HorryIsUpduffed · 23/07/2013 23:45

I pass the shop every day: I passed it this morning. verb can be substituted with another verb, eg visit

As I walked past the shop, I heard a noise. preposition can be substituted with another preposition eg towards

YokoUhOh · 23/07/2013 23:46

'Past' is a...preposition (I think!).

AmyFarrahFowlerCooper · 23/07/2013 23:47

Thank you! Grin
