..... Accompliments.

In a new, try-hard Essex restaurant. Tapas apparently comes with artisan breads and accompliments.

I absolutely love it, am going to be using it a lot from now on

Lovely.

SunshineOutdoors · 11/04/2012 19:14

Do you think the person who serves you the tapas and bread says lots of lovely things to you at the same time? I'd like that.

I once went out to a nice little pub that had palma ham on some of its tapas dishes.

Lovely, it's a bit like 'refractorinessless' which my friend used today.

OlaRapaceFru · 11/04/2012 19:26

Ooohhahahaha Grin

A few years ago our local pub used to have a large jar of pickled eggs and the landlord was obviously trying to get shot of sell them; occasionally they were written up on the 'dishes of the day chalkboard' as an 'extra'.

One of the (young) part-time members of staff always used to write : PICKED EGGS

OlaRapaceFru · 11/04/2012 19:44

What did she mean, Jux?

I've just remembered a, literally, nose-to-nose argument I had with a chef a few years ago (which happened because I'd offered to type up and print the 'menu of the day' for a friend who was manager of the restaurant, as their computer wasn't working - so I did it as a favour). Anyway, one of the dishes contained mascarpone - the chef was insisting it was spelled marscapone. It turned into a bit of a row - I can't believe I stood my ground with a chef who probably had a meat cleaver in his hands. Grin

Chef's are scary people!

Wrt refractorinessless. We started off talking about one's subconscious being recalcitrant (apparently, mine is). She then got the dictionary out to check that that was what she meant. From the definition came refractionate (I think) and thus to refractoriness. She decided that my subconscious was refractorinessless.

Admittedly, it was a silly conversation. Grin

Crikey! DP says some weird things sometimes, but nothing as good as refractorinessless. I'm impressed - but I'm not going to tell him that word ... umm, maybe I will Wink

DH saw Proffiter Rolls on offer in a restaurant yesterday. Love it.

Love the menu typos, as DH is a chef (not a shouty one though)

Best one I've seen, in a carefully chosen 'handwriting' font on a printed blackboard thing: Croissants served with butter and preservatives'
Repeated for the teacakes...

Awww...bless. Smile
