London Underground time error

I was on the tube yesterday, and saw on the tube map "Woodford-Hainault section runs until approximately 2400". I commented to DH that 400 years was good running for a tube line, he sarcastically replied "it's the 24 hour clock, obviously".
My pedant senses went into overdrive, as I am certain that 2400 cannot be a time on a 24 hour clock. Surely 2359 turns to 0000?

Well, technically yes, but for the general public this is probably confusing. Apparently the notation 24:00 may also be used to refer to midnight at the end of a given date, or where opening hours/operating hours end at midnight, e.g. "00:00?24:00". However, this notation really is for clarity and obviously doesn't represent the display seen on the face of a clock.

I'm such a pedant I actually took a photo of the map to tell TfL about it. If it's so confusing to the general public, why not just put "midnight"?

Monday has two midnights: one at 0000, the other at 2400.

For services running late Sunday evening past midnight into Monday, timings may be different to those for the same time Tuesday to Saturday.

In some countries you can even see times like 2415, signifying the service started the previous day.

Why only Monday? Which countries?
Why would a 24 hour clock have 25 possible hours? I've opened a can of worms here.....Grin

iIm fascinated by this one...
So if the time goes from 23:59 to 24:00

What time is it a minute later? 00:01 or 24:01

.....Does 24:59 plus 1 minute give us 01:00?

...and how come 2415 shows that the service started the previous day??
Rescue me someone, I'm in a time warp !

I'll let you off this time, just don't do it again or there'll be troubleGrin
I crossed a line this week thoughBlush. Dropping a child at church, I noticed a sign requesting donations of "toothebrushes" and "toothepaste". I was so irritated that I found a pen and corrected them both immediatelyGrin.
I also pointed out the two errors in a school flyer: "21th November" and "school/collage"Grin
I'm unstoppable!
